Incorrectly-Attributed Credits
These are items I have found attributed to Kelley somewhere, but in which he is neither credited nor visible upon viewing. Most are probably errors from directories, but it is always possible that he had a part in the filming which was then edited out.
Movie: Johnny Reno (1966)
Credited in Weaver (1970); appears in many filmographies. The movie was produced by Kelley's friend A.C. Lyles and is just the sort of thing he would have been in, but he's neither visible nor credited - at least in the version I saw. Perhaps he had a role that was later cut. Or, I suppose it's possible that he's some uncredited baddie falling off a roof in the distance, but by this time in his career, I wouldn't expect that to be the case.

Gunsmoke: “Al Clovis” or “The F.U.” (episode 4.27; 3/14/59)
Credited in Parish & Terrace (1989). The episode is titled "The F.U." and involves a character named Al Clovis. Kelley is not visible or credited; he also stated in a Gunsmoke book that he only did one Gunsmoke episode ("Indian Scout"). But then, memory is faulty, and it's possible that someone really did see him in another and just had the wrong episode title.

Johnny Ringo:
I don't know where I came across this one, but it's incorrect -- the keeper of the fine and complete Johnny Ringo website informs me definitively that Kelley never appeared on this show. (He did, of course, appear with the star of Johnny Ringo, Don Durant, in the Trackdown episode, "A Quiet Night in Porter.")

Matinee Theater : "From the Desk of Margaret Tydings" (ep 111, 4/4/56)
Credited in Inman. Kelley is neither credited nor visible in the show.

Police Story(1973): Pilot ("Slow Boy")
Listed in IMDB filmography. Source of the confusion is no doubt the earlier unsold Roddenberry pilot Police Story (produced in 1964 and aired in 1967) - which Kelley credited with launching his Star Trek career.

Richard Diamond: "The Fine Art of Murder" (episode 3.34; 1/25/60)
Credited in Parish & Terrace (1989), IMDB's Kelley filmography, etc.; he is neither visible nor credited.

Strike Force, 1981, "The Judge" (ABC; 60m; 1981-82)
Don't know where I came across this one, but it is no doubt a confusion with Silent Force, 1970, "The Judge."

Trackdown: "Blind Alley" (2.37; 9/16/59)
Credited in Lentz (1996) - where it is clearly a confusion with the following episode, "A Quiet Night In Porter," in which Kelley did appear. Also listed on the IMDB Kelley filmography. Kelley is not in it.

Wanted: Dead or Alive, "The Hostage" (2.6, 10/10/1959)
Credited in Lentz (1997), the IMDB site, the "official" Star Trek site, etc. Lentz has switched the cast list for “The Hostage” with that for “The Empty Cell” (the following episode), in which Kelley really does appear.

Zane Grey Theater: "The Accuser" (episode 3.4, 10/30/58)
Credited in Lentz (1996) and listed on the IMDB filmography; Kelley is not visible or credited.

Zane Grey Theater: “Shadow”
Listed on the "official" Star Trek website. There is an episode called “Shadows”(4.6,94), but Kelley is neither visible nor credited in it. Probably a misprint of the episode "Shadow of a Dead Man," in which Kelley appears.

Notes on Unverified Credits
These are roles I've found attributed to Mr. Kelley somewhere (standard references, fanzines, tv magazines, interviews, websites, etc.) but which are a) doubtful for some reason (i.e., listed in only one source) and b) have so far been unavailable for review -- and are therefore not annotated in the year-by-year pages of this site. (They are included in both the alphabetical and chronological indexes.)

Many are very probably correct; others just as probably apocryphal. If you can shed any light on these from first-hand experience, please let me know!
