Sundry Hollywood Anecdotes

we were talking about the costume ball. Years ago there was an actor in Hollywood, a real character named Victor Mature. He did a lot of physical roles. And he was doing a film, playing a Roman soldier with all the paraphernalia on his head and so forth, and he and a buddy went across the street to a bar to have a drink. They walked into this civilian bar and they were on location, out of town, where people don't usually see actors going around at lunchtime. And they walked into this bar and the heads swivelled. The bartender almost dropped his towel. And Mature looked at the bartender and he said, "What's the matter, haven't you ever seen a service man before?” (laughter)
