Star Trek TOS Zinedex: Authors (W)

Joyce Yasner
"Equity"     Interphase #4, May 1977 (p. 154-172)
A Kraith-type story, with the usual Big-Brother, controlling and rigid Vulcan society which seems all out of kilter to me. A married couple and a young man have inadvertently missed the Affirmation and are therefore cast out of any meaningful role in society. The single young man is expected to die in pon farr, but the wife rescues him; therefore, society sees them as such a threat that it sentences them all to be sterilized. (Huh? Where's the logic?) They seek asylum with the Terran embassy.

Carol Yocum
"Pilgrimage"    Dreadnought Explorations #5, Jan 1977 (p. 85-87)
Spock reminisces over Kirk's monument.

"In Passage"    Dreadnought Explorations #5, Jan 1977 (p. 99-101)
Spock & McCoy share a poignant moment contemplating the meaning of life in the observation deck after McCoy runs out on his own birthday party.

* "Koloth Hatches His Revenge" Entercomm #5, 1982 (p.68-80)
(with Linda Maclaren & Gina Martin)
Striving to improve his capacity for imaginative thinking, Koloth comes up with the perfect revenge for the tribbles Kirk sent to his ship. He sends 50 Gorn eggs to Kirk, so that the baby Gornlings all imprint on him at hatching. A charmer. The story takes place in the Dreadnought Explorations storyline, but that is not particularly important to enjoyment of the tale.
