Ed. Anna Parrish, Published by Peg Kennedy & Bill Hupe, Mason, WI
This zine is insufficiently edited, but a pleasant enough read.
- * "The Fog" (p. 1-22) / Mergwin
- Another species' physics experiments result in another
inter-universal transfer. This time, Kirk finds himself in the Republic,
whose Kirk is married to a bearded McCoy and whose government is so
fearful of Vulcans as to forbid them aboard starships and to forbid
them to mind-meld on pain of death. The reactions of all parties are
very well drawn, as they try to restore the captains before they both
die of the effects. A particularly sweet touch is "our" McCoy's
confession to Spock -- before joining him in meld to rescue their Kirk
--that he, too, had had hopes of Jim's love. The captains are restored,
leaving a lonely Bones in one universe and a lonely Spock in the other.
The latter, however, finds his way into a universe where his counterpart
is both beloved and dying, and takes his place.
- "Virgin Territory" (p. 39-48) / St.
John & Anna Parrish
- Mirror-Universe sex farce (believe it or not). Despite
his reputation and his legendary organ, Kirk of the ISS Enterprise is
a virgin and, because of the fearsome grandmother in his head, won't
remedy that until he's married. Things come to a crisis and Spock takes
advantage of the opportunity to have a shotgun wedding. Pretty funny.
- "First Sight" (p. 49-71) / Gena
Moretti
- Spock discovers that his instant rapport with young
Captain Kirk derives from their relationship in previous lives, and
waits for the capatain to discover the bond. It's a long wait, and a
number of vignettes from episodes before Kirk is ready to hear the explanation,
and it takes "Amok Time" before he realizes he really can
give up women for an exclusive relationship with Spock.
- "Reunited" (p. 72-100) / Anna Parrish
- The events of STIII, from Kirk's pov and taking
into account that the men were bondmates. After fal-tor-pan, much of
Spock's memory, as well as their bond, has been lost. Sarek asks Kirk
to leave without Spock, but Spock rejoins the Bounty as they prepare
to leave.
- "Satisfied Hunger" (p. 104-108) / St.
John
- First-person from Kirk's pov as Kirk and Spock dance
around their attraction for one another and Spock finally takes the
initiative to kiss Kirk in the turbolift. In short order, they make
love, then each play martyr for the other when captured by slavers on
a planetary m ission. Kinda standard sex fantasy.
- "A Sacrifice of Love" (p. 111-116) / Sara
Two Foxes
- First person from Spock's pov as he decides to turn
down captaincy of the Enterprise to stay with newly-promoted Admiral
Kirk..
- * "Pock" (p. 117-149) / Annie
Rooney & Gena Moretti
- Charming if implausible tale of Jim and Spock, as
two lonely little boys, making mental contact so that "Pock"
becomes Jimmy's "imaginary playmate." When the boys are teenagers,
Jim is running the family farm and looking after his mother, who has
been paralyzed in a farm accident, and Spock flees Vulcan after the
show-down with his father. He seeks Jim out, goes to work on the farm,
and eventually reveals his identity and the boys become lovers.
